HIV Testing and Counseling

HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, leads to AIDS. Many of those infected with HIV don’t know their status, and may unknowingly transfer the virus to others. The only way to make sure you are not infected with HIV is to get tested.

MMDHD offers both anonymous and confidential HIV testing. An anonymous test does not require any personal identification in order to be tested. A confidential test, while it requires your name, remains confidential. The test is usually conducted using Orasure, an oral swab method that is painless and blood-free.

HIV testing is available at any of our three locations for a $20.00 donation, however, those who are unable to donate are not turned away. The donation goes towards the purchase of Orasure tests. In our Montcalm and Gratiot Branch Offices we also offer blood tests for HIV testing which is a $30.00 donation.

Sexually Transmitted Disease Program (STD)

Confidential testing, treatment and education for sexually transmitted diseases is provided for both adults and teens. Partner notification services are also provided.  Male and female testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases is available at low cost.  Clients will not be denied services based on ability to pay.

Like every health service, STD testing is private and confidential. While parent participation is encouraged, teens under 18 can seek STD treatment without parent consent. If you are concerned that you may have and STD, please call us to make an appointment. Once you are here, we can make a diagnosis, treat any infection, and help you stay healthy in the future. If pregnancy prevention is a concern, we can help you with that as well. Call us today!
